This event will be part of the annual Alaska Startup Week and will be cohosted by a diverse list of groups advocating for more entrepreneurship opportunities in BIPOC communities such Alaska Black Chamber of Commerce, NAACP Anchorage Economic Development Committee, Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Alaska, Sol de Medianoche AND will include allies such as Alaska Start Ups, 49th State Fund, and Municipality of Anchorage: Office of Equal Opportunity and more.
The objective of this event is to provide training, resources, and networking opportunities to BIPOC owned businesses (this means 51% or more owned by a person of color) operating in Alaska to encourage the formation and growth of as many as possible. It will teach fundamentals to start or grow our businesses, sharing resources available in our communities and nationwide, introduce different entrepreneur ecosystem leaders in Alaska, and give time to address specific needs in each of our cultural communities and how to bring opportunities and address disparities to Alaska.
If you are a BIPOC business owner, or work for an organization that is BIPOC led/founded or are an ally who works along side our communities and would like to be part of this event save the date and contact us! Space is limited and this event will happen statewide.
Although it is free to attend (thanks to amazing sponsors, details to come) your support is still appreciated and will go directly to BIPOC start ups and existing businesses (name and drawings to be shared at the event). Many virtual prizes will be given to ALL attendees.
