1 Million Cups - Triverus
Anchorage's 1 Million Cups meets every Wednesday at 9:00 am on Zoom and Facebook Live. 1 Million Cups is an entrepreneur pitch event that brings together economic developers, investors, entrepreneurs, and community members to give feedback on new and established business ideas and create community.

On November 18, we'll hear from Hans Vogel from Triverus. Founded in 2001, Palmer, Alaska-based Triverus has pioneered high-efficiency outdoor surface cleaning equipment that is used by the U.S. military. Additionally, Triverus provides a cleaning and surface pollution prevention technology for airports, local governments, parking garages, and marine dry-dock operations. Triverus’ innovative cleaning technology was originally developed through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program when the company responded to a solicitation from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and Naval Sea Systems Command Carderock Division. Triverus’ Mobile Cleaning, Recovery, and Recycle System (MCRRS) technology was designed to efficiently clean Navy flight deck surfaces while keeping the landing surface from becoming slick, protecting aircrafts and crews. Over the years, the MCRRS has become more than just a cleaning tool and is now considered by many in the U.S. Navy as a mission critical piece of equipment.

Mariculture: How Can I Get Started?
The cultivation of fish and their surrounding natural resources has been a part of Alaska's economic development since the dawn of time—it is one of our oldest trades, and will likely be one of our longest-lasting.
But within that comes a specific set of challenges including competition, licensing, and geographic disadvantages during the winter months.

How does someone completely new to the field get involved?

Our panel of experienced mariculture industry reps plan on answering that question—and more—within just a short hour discussion. During this virtual event, we will discuss Alaska-specific mariculture trends and opportunities and the hatchery process, and kelp lifecycles.

New Manufacturers Introductory Panel Discussion
Interested in getting in the manufacturing space? It isn't an easy industry to break into in Alaska—not just because of our location, but because we lack many resources available immediately to those in the Lower 48. But manufacturers have broken ground in Alaska, and you can too.

That's why we've put together a panel of experts to teach you everything you need to know about manufacturing marketing, lean manufacturing, cybersecurity, food safety, and finances from the perspective of those who have done it themselves.

You'll hear from Curt Anderson, owner of an eCommerce company that was ranked 3X on the Internet Retailer Magazine Top 1000 eCommerce Companies, Celia Paulson, a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Cybersecurity Services Specialist, Tammy Gray, a finance and banking specialist with Alaska Small Business Development Center, Julia Canale, the Food Industry Safety, Compliance, & Regulatory Specialist at New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP), and John Hunt, a Lean Six Sigma specialist and expert within the manufacturing field as a whole.
